Sarah Walker

I am very excited to be a part of the Waitaki District Health Services leadership team as the Allied Health Director. The role is part time and provides leadership for the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Clinical Needs Assessment, Dietetics, and Speech Language Therapy services.

My career began as a physiotherapist in rural Central Otago and has expanded into leadership of the wider allied health professions and research into the rural allied health workforce. I am passionate about health equity and ensuring good health outcomes for our rural people, rural whanau, and rural communities. My focus is to  facilitate the development of highly skilled allied health professionals who are valued and well supported to empower our people and their whānau on their health journey.
