During the Orange Traffic Light System, services at Oamaru Hospital will remain as they are currently.
Visiting hours will be 2pm – 7pm and visitors restricted to 2 per patient.
Maternity - No children to accompany their parents for antenatal visits however children will be permitted for inpatient visits.

ALL visitors to the hospital will be screened before entry, must scan in using the QR code or enter their details in the handwritten register, and required to wear a mask at all times. Please be kind to our staff through the screening process.

For the likes of a grazed knee, sore throat, coughs, etc. If symptoms persist, see your Chemist.


Diarrhoea, runny nose, painful cough, headache, etc? Your Chemist will assist you with advice.

Doctor (GP)

Vomiting, ear pain, sore belly, backache, cuts, sprains, itchy rash, strain, etc. Contact your GP for an appointment.

Emergency Department

Heavy bleeding, broken bones, burns, chest pain, trouble breathing? For critical or life threatening situations - call 111.
