Visiting hours will be 2pm – 7pm and visitors restricted to 2 per patient.
Maternity - No children to accompany their parents for antenatal visits however children will be permitted for inpatient visits.
ALL visitors to the hospital will be screened before entry, must scan in using the QR code or enter their details in the handwritten register, and required to wear a mask at all times. Please be kind to our staff through the screening process.

Maternity Centre Position

We are seeking either a Midwife, Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse to provide support for our postnatal inpatients, mums and babies, and their whanau/families while staying with us at Oamaru Maternity Centre. Breastfeeding knowledge or education is a bonus, although not required as orientation and training will be provided.

This position is part time, minimum 0.4FTE, with the ability to pick up additional shifts. The successful applicant will be expected to work varied rostered shifts including mornings, afternoons, and nights throughout the week.

Oamaru Maternity Centre is a rural midwifery led primary birthing unit with 2 birthing rooms, a birthing pool and 3 postnatal rooms.
