During Delta level 2, services at Oamaru Hospital will resume to normal.
Visiting hours will be 2pm – 7pm and visitors restricted to 2 per patient.
Maternity - No children to accompany their parents for antenatal visits however children will be permitted for inpatient visits.
ALL visitors to the hospital will be screened before entry, must scan in using the QR code or enter their details in the handwritten register, and required to wear a mask at all times. Please be kind to our staff through the screening process.

Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist (full-time, permanent)

Waitaki District Health Services Ltd (WDHSL) are interested to hear from Rural Hospital Medicine Specialists or Rural Hospital Medicine trainees who are looking for a great opportunity. 

WDHSL (Oamaru Hospital) is accredited for training by the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine programme and is located in Oamaru, the centre of the beautiful Waitaki District.  It is close to a number of world class ski fields and has various lakes within the district that provide both great boating and fishing opportunities.  It is also the final destination on the famous Alps 2 Ocean cycle trail.

WDHSL covers a diverse population base of approximately 23,000 people with a significant Pasifika population.  It has a 20-bed Inpatient ward, 24-hour emergency room, primary birthing unit, outpatient clinics and is well supported with a wide range of community and diagnostic services. 

The successful candidate will be required to be a Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist or training towards, and will be part of a skilled, diverse and supportive team.
