Hospital Visiting Hours are now 2.00pm-4.00pm and 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Two visitors allowed at any one time.

Paul Allison Waitaki District Health Services Board

Paul has wide spread governance experience having served on boards within the health, retail, education, energy, sport and community funding sectors. This includes Sport New Zealand, Otago Polytechnic, University Book Shop (Otago) and Winter Games NZ.  He also has over 20 years’ leadership experience as Chief Executive of sector leading organisations – Sport Otago and Central Lakes Trust.  

He is also currently chairman of Infinite Energy Limited, the Otago Rugby Union’s board appointments panel and in 2015, became a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.

He also has a strong background in communications and the media – having worked for TVNZ and NZME for several years – and has been a member of The Lion Foundation regional grants committee for the past six years.

Mr. Allison was appointed to the Board of Waitaki District Health Services Limited in early 2018 and was appointed as Chairman in July 2019.

'The health sector is very challenging. It is vital that the provision of health care services in the region meets the needs of the Waitaki community,' he said.

He is committed to ensuring the organisation is financially sound, provides a very safe environment for staff and patients, and has a strong working relationship with the Waitaki District Council and other key stakeholders.
