RSV – VISITING RESTRICTIONS TO OAMARU HOSPITAL
From 16th July 2021: Oamaru Hospital is currently placing restrictions on visitors to all departments within the hospital (E.D, the Ward, Maternity, Radiology, Outpatients and District Nursing) to help prevent further spread of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) to newborn babies and sick children.
In particular, we ask that only parents and main caregivers visit our maternity unit until further notice, to help protect newborn babies and sick children from the virus.

Visiting hours are currently 2.00pm - 7.00pm daily

Andrew Wilson

Andrew Wilson Waitaki District Health Services Board

Dr Andrew Wilson commenced working for Oamaru Hospital in 1992 . He started working as a GP in  Oamaru in 1994 . He continued to work part time for Oamaru Hospital until 2014 and went on to become a Director of Waitaki District Health services in 2017.

He is a senior lecturer at the University of Otago School of medicine. As a GP his principle area of interest is in care of the elderly. In his role as director he is passionate about retaining in patient, and emergency department services in Oamaru, and extending the range of out patient service available to our local community.
