RSV – VISITING RESTRICTIONS TO OAMARU HOSPITAL
From 16th July 2021: Oamaru Hospital is currently placing restrictions on visitors to all departments within the hospital (E.D, the Ward, Maternity, Radiology, Outpatients and District Nursing) to help prevent further spread of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) to newborn babies and sick children.
In particular, we ask that only parents and main caregivers visit our maternity unit until further notice, to help protect newborn babies and sick children from the virus.

Visiting hours are currently 2.00pm - 7.00pm daily

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) VISITING RESTRICTIONS TO OAMARU HOSPITAL

20-7-2021: Oamaru Hospital is currently placing restrictions on visitors to all departments within the hospital (E.D, the Ward, Maternity, Radiology, Outpatients and District Nursing) to help prevent further spread of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) to newborn babies and sick children.

In particular, we ask that only parents and main caregivers visit our maternity unit until further notice, to help protect newborn babies and sick children from the virus.

Visitors in these areas will be asked to wear a mask and other protective clothing if needed.

RSV is very contagious and can cause severe and life-threatening illness in babies and sick children. Please contact your doctor or call Healthline on 0800 611 116 for advice if you think you or someone in your household has RSV. Information on symptoms can also be found on the Ministry of Health website: www.health.govt.nz.
